Animal Crossing New Leaf Review!
22:00
A few months ago I finally purchased a 3DS XL. I picked the Animal Crossing New Leaf Special Edition 3DS XL because I loved the previous game, I was going to buy the new game anyway and I absolutely loved the design. I've being playing the game since I bought my 3DS and I feel like I've had enough time to form a solid opinion on it, so I've decided to review it!
"There are no points or levels, just an amazing array of sights and sounds, places and activities...all yours to explore. Spend your time passing new ordinances—or going fishing. Hang out at a coffee shop or visit a tropical island. It's all up to you."
Starting a new game can sometimes be daunting, but as I've found will all of the games in the Animal Crossing series, it's really easy to set up and get to grips with the game's controls. Although it took a long time to finally settle on a name for my town (Hyrule), as soon as I'd started playing, I couldn't stop. I always find myself playing it for hours without even checking the time.
"Your game is what you make it—and personalizing your world is part of the fun. Create cool patterns for clothing or furniture, build new structures in your town, design gardens and museum displays, and so much more."
The game is highly customisable, and it's very easy to tailor everything to suit your own needs. You can collect furniture from certain collections to make your house match perfectly, or you can use different collections to echo your personality. You can also personalise your town with your choice of public works projects.
"Time passes in the world of Animal Crossing just as it does in real life. Celebrate holidays and see the seasons change. Meet new visitors or get gifts from your neighbors. There's always something special to look forward to."
New Leaf is a visually beautiful game, whether it's being played with 3D on or off. I love the sharp colours and animation style - it's definitely one of the reasons why I love the game so much. I also really love how the music, insects, weather and brightness changes depending on the season, weather and what time of day it is in the real world, making the game feel much more personalised.
"Create your very own happy place in the wonderful world of Animal Crossing™. Come in and look around—and see why there's no other place quite like it."
- It's visually gorgeous.
- It's highly customisable.
- It's easy to understand.
- It can be played for hours without becoming too repetitive.
- The player inventory is too small.
- The villager house placement is completely random.
- Trees can't be placed closely together.
- NPC dialogs are always the same.
I would recommend this game to absolutely everyone, no matter how old they are or how much gaming experience they have. The game's pros far outweigh it's very minor cons.
